Most of today’s software leaders did not “grow up” in Agile development shops. For many of us, we were raised on traditional waterfall and project management methods, spending most of our “developer years” in this model. Now we lead teams of developers/testers/etc. in a process that we never worked in and we’re struggling to “get the balance right”.
Does that mean we can’t do it effectively and efficiently? Absolutely not! However, it isn’t easy. Many of the tried-and-true techniques your bosses taught you need to be “tweaked” a bit to ensure that YOU don’t unknowingly undermine everything you and your team are working towards in trying to be Agile.
In this presentation, Josh Anderson will share the key practices that enable effective agile teams in delivering the goods to their ultimate potential. You’ll explore keys to agile coaching, more fully understanding your servant-leadership role, how to effectively facilitate common agile ceremonies, common agile myths or anti-patterns and how to avoid them, and finally, how to effectively hire & build agile teams.
