Leadership - It's About the People (Stupid). Making decisions, power and being in-charge often conflict with what leadership is really about. It's about the people.

Peter Asmar is Associate State Superintendent and Chief Information Officer for the Department of Public Instruction. He joined DPI in 2006 after a 30 year career in the private sector. Peter brings a global operational perspective to this
role from his career in financial services and technology for
JPMorganChase, Credit Suisse,, International Paper Company and
United Parcel Service where he served as chief operating officer,
program director and chief financial officer for technology
divisions.

Peter has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Brooklyn College of the City University and a Master's degree in Business Administration from New York Institute of Technology. In his role as Associate Superintendent and Chief Information Officer, He
also serves on the Board of Directors for MCNC, providing the
research and education network that support all levels of
education throughout the state.
